How is the Prosthesis Selection in Breast Augmentation?
In Breast Augmentation, implants with silicone or serum filled, round or drop according to shape, rough or smooth surface according to the surface feature can be preferred. The anatomical structure of the patient, the expectation from breast augmentation, whether additional procedures such as breast augmentation and lifting will be applied are the criteria considered in the selection of breast implants.
How is Breast Augmentation Applied?
In the breast augmentation process, the silicone implant is placed under the breast tissue or under the muscle carrying the breast tissue through an incision made from the submammary groove, armpit or nipple. The operation takes approximately 1-1.5 hours and is performed under general anesthesia. 1 day hospitalization is recommended. At the end of the surgery, the incision line is dressed and a special bra is put on.

Implant used in breast aesthetics are selected from FDA-approved brands that have been tested for biocompatibility. No relationship was found between breast implant and breast cancer. What Happens After Breast Augmentation?
Swelling, bruising and pain may occur in the first few days after Breast Aesthetics. Pain can be controlled with painkillers. Wearing a supportive bra can speed recovery. Swelling and bruising may continue for a week or two.
After the breast augmentation procedure, the person can return to his daily life, provided that he avoids heavy activities within a few days. After an average of 1.5 months, sports etc. activities can be returned.
After Breast Augmentation, scars are left in areas that can be hidden as much as possible. Although a line-shaped scar remains in general, significant scars may occur in those with wound healing disorders. In addition, different scars may occur because more incisions are needed in patients undergoing joint erection.
What Is The Result After Breast Augmentation?
With the Breast Augmentation Procedure, breast sizes increase, the shape or size difference between your breasts can be corrected. However, some structural breast deformities do not disappear with breast augmentation.
In general, women are satisfied with breast augmentation. However, the anatomical structure and expectations of the person are also very important. People who have realistic expectations and can openly share them have a higher satisfaction rate.
As long as no deformation occurs due to weight change, pregnancy, aging, injury, etc., the prosthesis can remain in the person's body for life.
What Are the Risks of Breast Augmentation?
Early-term risks such as bleeding, infection, and wound dehiscence can be seen in this surgery, although at a low rate. Nipple numbness may occur temporarily. Very rarely it can be permanent. The difference in size and shape after surgery does not generally occur unless the person has a significant chest asymmetry.
Over time, hardening, softening, position change, and deflation due to injury may occur in the implant. Secondary surgical interventions may be required for these situations.
Capsule contracture is a late complication of breast implant. The hardening of the tissue surrounding the breast tissue and compression of the breast implant may result in distortions in the shape of the breast. Sometimes it may be necessary to surgically remove the capsule and replace the prosthesis.
Prostheses placed under the breast may prevent masses from being seen on mammography. In this case, a submuscular plan may be preferred or the breast is visualized by another method such as MR .
Things to Know Before Breast Augmentation
You should have realistic expectations about breast augmentation: Of course, implants will increase breast volume and correct its shape, but no one can guarantee that it will create the perfect shape.
Secondary surgery may be required if conditions such as fluctuation in the breast tissue, deformity, and tearing of the prosthesis occur.
Breast augmentation does not prevent deformations due to weight gain, pregnancy, and age-related changes.
The problems caused by the prosthesis on the skin are permanent, even if the prosthesis is changed, some skin problems may not change.
No relationship was found between breast implants and breast cancer.
Breast implants do not interfere with breastfeeding.
